To the lovely people of Rinse+Repeat,

We know things have been quiet around here lately.

To all of you who eagerly anticipate our daily posts, rely on us for discovering new music, or have seen your career take off thanks to this page, we apologize for the silence. But there's a reason behind it, and we'd like to share.

Over the last couple of years, running this page has been a true blessing. We've discovered some incredible tracks and helped shine a light on promising artists, helping kickstart several careers. Some of the most remarkable records showcased through us have emerged from the most unexpected places, and we're incredibly grateful for the chance to connect over music and influence the sonic culture of this scene in any way we can.

However, amidst the constant stream of new music and an explosion of new producers, one track after another, beat after beat, we've gradually started to notice a sense of repetition creeping in.

After listening to new records almost daily for the last 2 years, there came a point where EVERYTHING just started to sound the same, and gradually, this has led us to feel as if there is a lack of distinctiveness in the current scene.

Now, while repetition is inherent to the house genre, in today's market, we feel like things have become a bit oversaturated. Finding those 'it' tracks that really stand out to us and truly make us feel something has become increasingly rare.

For weeks, when we'd go to search for new sounds, we would occasionally stumble across some intriguing finds, only to encounter the same issue—nothing ever quite 'hit.'

As a result, we started to feel burnt out.

Is the scene too saturated? Possibly. Is this a result of house hitting the mainstream? Maybe. Is it because we’re listening to too much music? Sure. Are we not listening to enough? Whatever the reason is, there’s one thing we know for sure:

Things are on the cusp of a big shift.

With each challenge comes an opportunity for growth, and we’re excited to see where this goes.

That said, we've been very eager to post and continue supporting artists, but we also want to make sure that we uphold a standard of quality to ourselves, only sharing what genuinely excites us and aligns with our values, which ultimately shapes our unique sound and taste.

So, in recent months, we've scaled back our postings to delve deeper into exploring the direction we want to take this project. After much reflection, and with a much clearer mind on where we want to go with this, it’s time we return.

For those curious about what that vision looks like, all we really have to say is this:

we just want to dance.

and to clarify, all of this is solely our opinion. However, we hope you understand and continue to support us. You can anticipate some new records, new posts, and new ideas coming very soon.

With love,

Rinse+Repeat.
